Our sugar high of a week...

A rundown of our Valentine Week Extravaganza...

first of all, V-Day packages from both sets of grandparents arrived on the same day! Talk about good time and lots of excitement.

Lyndon didn't waste any time to try out the marshmallow treats.

All the loot!

They got new jammies too. We received this package 5 days ago and Lyndon has worn these Spiderman pj's for 4 days now. You do the math. He loves pj's and he loves super hero's, it was the perfect storm. :) (Check out Lyndon's face in this picture. that kid.)

On to decorating cookies! How can you celebrate Valentines Day without heart shaped sugar cookies with pink frosting? You just can't.

I asked him what he thought of his cookie...

Off to the annual Round Rock library Valentine Party...

Good thing I got this picture of the two of them because about 2 seconds after I took the picture...

this rif-raff began...
and continued...
and still continued even more...

Now for writing out Valentines...

Lyndon was more interested in eating the candy. Who isn't, though?

And so ends our Valentine festivities! We hope everyone had a sweet day! (we sure did)

Lyndon, oh Lyndon

While Jonathon and Maddie were at the Daddy Daughter Dance Lyndon and I had a little photo shoot. I just love my little snuggle bug. He was cracking me up...as usual.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Every year the weekend before Valentine's Day our Park's and Rec dept puts on a Daddy Daughter dance. Jonathon and Maddie went last year and she has been looking forward to it again all year. (Jonathon too.) Tonight was the night. They had a great time, dinner at Johnny Carinos, face painting, cookies, punch and of course...dancing. She wore her dress from Kindron and John's wedding.

Let it snow---in texas!

Snow in Texas!! The night before we heard reports that there were "Chances of snow" but I didn't really pay too much attention. I don't have kids who go to school or a husband who drives to work so I knew it wouldn't effect us much if it did snow. Friday morning I woke up and immediately put my flip flops on to take the trash to the curb. (We use to have trash days 2 times a week so we'd get lazy and think, ah, they're coming again in a couple of days I won't worry about putting it out. We still have that lazy attitude but now they only come once a week. Not a good combo. So you can imagine the trash that had built up.) I opened the garage door and let out a little gasp to find a blanket of soft white snow was covering everything! It was kinda magical. The neighbors were all outside, kids were playing and adults were talking about how crazy it is to have snow.

I hurried to get Maddie and Lyndon to show them. They were equally as surprised and excited. They immediately got their warm clothes on. (Lyndon tried to get away with flip flops. He's a warm weather boy.) They played and played and played. I took pictures and after 5 minutes was freezing. I kept asking if they were ready to head back inside but they kept on going. (I did end up putting on shoes, btw.)

Lyndon was excited, like a little puppy. He couldn't hold still he kept running, sliding, jumping, spinning...you name the motion, he was doing it.

He would make a little snowball and throw it at the house.

I finally lured them inside with promises of Hot chocolate. Yes, I'm smart like that.

As it turns out the snow DID end up effecting me. At around noon the snowed had melted but it was still pretty cold so I thought I would take the kids to Ikea. Look around, have lunch, just enjoy the bliss of Ikea. We drive into the lot to fidn it Completely empty. What the...? So I pull around to the entrance. The sign on the door said, "Due to inclement weather, Ikea will be closed until tomorrow at 11am." I couldn't believe it! Kind of funny but mostly annoying. It's funny what an inch of snow will do to a community that never gets an inch of snow!

Christmas 2010--Blair, NE!

This is how I picture Jonathon's parents house at Christmas time...nice, isn't it?

We had a great Christmas this year. Jonathon's whole family was able to come together this year. I was the first one to join their family 8 years ago and since then we've gone from 7 people to 15! It's always fun when we get together. This year was no exception. :)

Due to tradition, after all the kiddos are asleep on Christmas eve night the adults start dividing up the gifts and putting them in piles for each person. The trick this year was finding a spot for everyone to sit! Jonathon's Aunt Keely and Uncle Les also join the Evans for Christmas as does his Aunt Karla. So there were 21 people total! Phew. Talk about a lot of gifts! Christmas eve night to me is Jim's super yummy dinner, Kris's Christmas cookies, everyone dividing up the gifts, Jim and/or Kris putting m&m's in everyone's stocking and then everyone hanging around and talking when it's all over. See picture below. cozy and happy.

Christmas morning...

Maddie got a special letter from Santa....

And she got exactly what she asked Santa for: A "Go-Go My Walkin' Pup Furr-real Pet" Yeah, that's really the name of it and she said the whole title each and every time she asked for it.

A little zhu-Zhu love.

Lyndon got "Toothless" from "How to Train your Dragon"

Okay, this was funny/a little annoying...Kris made matching PJ's for all the grandson's. Lyndon, Adam and Daniel. I thought, oh how cute would it be to get a picture in front of the tree of all of them?! Yeah, what a joke. I was dealing with two 3 year old boys, one of which did not want to sit even for a second, the other who is deathly afraid of babies (see picture below) and the third and youngest who was being very cooperative. It just wasn't meant to be. The only thing I got was a picture demonstrating Lyndon's phobia of people who are littler than he is. classic.

I got to do a little photo shoot of Daniel and his folks. What a cutie, huh?

Maddie and Lyndon got a Mind Blowing Science kit. All 3 kids were having a ball! :)

I threw in this picture just cause I love the heck out of this guy.
