On Tuesday Jonathon, the kids and I decided to go canoeing downtown Austin on Lady Bird Lake. It was so fun! The weather was perfect. We saw turtles, fish, a crane, ducks, and a big ugly black swan that was a little too close for comfort. (we used out mad paddling skills to get out of his way.) The kids loved it. Lyndon was excited from the second he put on his life jacket. Maddie--or should I say Nervous Nelly--was a bit more cautious. She loosened up after 20 minutes and ever since can't wait to go again. Just one of the many fun things to do in Austin.
(I didn't want to risk taking my camera in the boat so I got some pictures when we were finished.)
Wow you guys are so brave! I would have been worried the kids would jump overboard :) Austin sounds awesome, how crazy just to go canoeing in the middle of the city!
Well, that's a good question...I'll start by saying we are a loving family of 4...Jonathon, Katie, Madaline and Lyndon. We REALLY like hanging out together. Chuck E. Cheese is always a favorite excursion. I LOVE the fact that everything is only one token. Just one. So I never feel like I have to weigh the pros and cons with each game. Is it worth it, is it not? Of course it's worth it, it's only ONE token. Yeah, we like Chuck.
We also love to laugh. Actually one of Maddie's favorite songs is "I love to Laugh" on the Mary Poppins sound track.
We have lots of goals. We don't always accomplish them but we never stop making them. Someday I will actually accomplish those 3 perpetual goals of mine...#1 Eat healthier, #2 exercise more, and #3 read my scriptures daily. I'm pretty sure I've have had those same 3 goals for the past 15 years. Why not just do them and move on, you ask? You tell me.
We love ordering pizza and watching "Friends" but at the same time we're both silently thinking...tomorrow night we'll eat some chicken breast and go for a walk.
I struggle with keeping the house clean and laundry done. But I'm really good at giving the kids loves and keeping up with our blog! :)
