A little of this, a little of that.

Have you ever hid in your pantry so you can eat a treat without the kids knowing?

...or is that just me?

Maddie and Lyndon bicker on a regular basis. I know that Lyndon adores Maddie but sometimes I wonder if Maddie shares the same love for Lyndon. That is until I heard Maddie say this while Jonathon was teasing Lyndon,

"Don't do that Daddy, Lyndon is my buddy."

Ahhh, it made my heart happy.

At the beginning of one of the General Conference sessions this past weekend, I was in the kitchen during the opening prayer. I walked in the family room to find Lyndon standing 2 feet in front of the TV...

with his arms folded.

Man, I love being his Mom.

I was in the kitchen when Maddie exclaimed, "Look, Mommy! You wanna see me make it rain?

Uh, do I? I wasn't sure. However...I was intrigued. I thought maybe she saw some kind of Native American rain dance n TV or something. I was thinking, this could actually be kinda cool. So I said, "Yeah, let's see you make it rain."

She spit.

Not quite as neat as a rain dance. (Although after she "made it rain" she informed me that it was actually "Yucky rain". Um, THAT information would've been helpful about 5 seconds ago.)

I normally don't ever allow the kids listen to "kids music" in the car. See this post. But I let my guard down and started letting them listen to "The Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack. How bad could it be, right. I thought at least it wasn't something annoying like "The Wiggles" or "Barney".

What was I thinking?

They BEG to listen to it NON-STOP. They know all the words and sing-a-long. Don't get me wrong, it's adorable. But I'm so SICK of those songs. And now when I change the music to something I want to listen to I not only get Maddie whining BUT

I get Lyndon chanting, DACK! DACK! DACK! DACK! (Jack) Over and over and over. fun.

It makes it hard to enjoy my song.

I came downstairs to find that Jonathon put on a movie for Maddie. She announced it as:

"Casper the Holy Ghost".

Funny. I thought Casper was just friendly.

I found Maddie asleep wearing this hat she found in her bedroom. When she woke up she groggily said to me, "Mom, this is my painters hat."
Just enjoying a muffin.

We made Easter nest cupcakes.

They consumed an insane amount of sugar. But Heck, isn't that what the holidays are all about?
Here's Lyndon sneaking just a little bit more...

Maddie made these 4...one for each member of our family. She decorated each top specifically for each of us. Mine has 4 M&M's...3+1 because I'm 31. Smarty.

I've been going through all of the kids stuff and de-cluttering. So I have a bunch of stuff ready for a garage sale just sitting in the front room. Lyndon likes to sort through it. This is his latest treasure...
He was embarrassed at first...

There it is!

No thanks, I don't want it.

Good times.

Katie, what happened? Over night Lyndon looks like a big kid and not a little guy anymore! I love the cupcakes what a cute idea. And yes I have shoved myself into the pantry to eat without the kids catching me:)

This is Halloween. This is Halloween. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only Mom who puts her foot down on the kids music in the car. Why is it that our children NEVER get sick of the same song (or movie)? I love the pic of Maddie in the painter's hat. SO cute!

Yep, caught Luke in the garage just the other day eating chips. But it's not just him, I do it all the time too. And yes, I hate that we don't just live down the road anymore, I can only imagine the mischief our kids would get into together.

Ha! Those little stories are so cute!
The other day, after a good and painful morning of Canon torturing Trace, we went to a play group. One of the other boys got really close to Trace. Canon jumped in the middle and told the boy "He's my brother!" It was so cute! He was concerned that the boy would push Trace and was totally protecting him. Ah, kids are nuts. Gotta love them.
I'm making those cupcakes today, they look so cute!

Oh yea...we must be related because I have a few special hiding spots to eat my treats! I guess that part of mom didn't rub off on us...she would give us anything she had, even if it was her favorite!
